A side tapped 5/8” hole on its barrel permits right-angle horizontal mounting, and it can transform threaded studs into non-threaded baby studs. MC-1053A comes with tapped 3/8"-16 female thread, which mounts accessories with 5/8” receivers onto gear featuring 3/8"-16 male thread.
